| Pennsylvania Property Tax Reform |
Two property tax reform plans are swirling the halls of the Capitol and have been the focus of lively rallies and press conferences.
One plan will eliminate property taxes while increasing the sales tax by 1-percent and broadening the base by including tax on previously untaxed services. The other plan would give counties the option to reduce property taxes and supplement education funding with a local sales tax increase. Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) is performing research on both plans and is prepared to provide testimony before the House Finance Committee on May 21.
